An incredibly rare chance to obtain a grouping of objects for two crew members from the same U-Boat.

U-363 was a Type VIIC based in Norway and was commanded by Kapitänleutnant Werner Nees. The boat

carried out seven war patrols and was involved in several Wolfpack sorties. U-363 survived the war and was

eventually surrendered at Loch Eriboll in May 1945. This entire set, for both groupings represents a very rare

opportunity to obtain a large selection of desirable items to two sailors from the same U-Boat.

Tradition badge consisting of a Sawfish. The sawfish as opposed to the more

widely used Swordfish was only adopted by both U-106 and U-826 and is a

much rarer badge. .

An original period desk ornament in the form of replica of the German Naval Memorial

at Laboe. The monument was built in 1936 to commemorate the German naval dead of

World War One. It now also commemorates the dead of the Kriegsmarine from World War Two.

Made in heavy brass, the monument is affixed to the base with screws.

Base is 9cm x 15cm. Overall height 13cm.

A very nice grouping from a former crewman of U-506.

U-506, a Type IX C, was sunk on 12 July 1943 by depth charges dropped by a

US Liberator bomber. Becker was killed in action. Only six of the crew survived.

 

Set consists of

A superb condition U-Boat War Badge by Schwerin in Tombak. The

reverse is marked with the name and number for Becker.

This relates to Maschinenobergefreiter Erich Hans Becker.

 

Accompanying the badge are two tradition embems for U-506, showing a

man wearing a top-hat and carrying water buckets. Interestingly

one has green shoulder pads and buckets ( for port) and the other red

(for starboard). A unique set.

Kriegsmarine Tank Killer lot.

An exceptionally rare grouping to a decorated Kriegsmarine Tank Killer. In the late

days of World War Two many "sailors without ships" were drafted into front line combat units

such as Naval Infantry and Tank Killer units. Grouping to these units are almost impossible to find.

 

This grouping, to Feldwebel Georg Ortner , a former crew member of the light cruiser Königsber, includes -

Document stating that Ortner has lost all his belongings when his ship was sunk (Königsberg was sunk during

style wearing a top-hat and carrying a ladder. This emblem is linked to U-233, sunk in July 1944.

hallmarked silver. No doubt intended for wear on a necklace by the sailor's wife or sweetheart
